| Raising the Hands in Salat |
Question:
Could you please advise me on whether raising the hands (Rafaya Dayn) should be done according to the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)?
Answer:
Praise be to Allah.
You may choose to follow any of the two views:
1. To raise hands as some companions did and as taught by shafi and hanbali schools;
2. To raise them only with the opening takbir and not to do it again as taught by Hanafi school.
Both of these positions are valid according to various schools. There is no need to fight over this issue.
