Amal Ahmed Albaz believes that through her perspective as an Egyptian Canadian, she must use her passion for speaking and change to achieve her purpose of making the world a better place. Striving to make a difference in the world, she uses her words as a weapon to ignite change, and hopes her words are loud enough to be heard by all. Amal Ahmed Albaz, 17, is a spoken word poet and Grade 12 IB student at White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville, Ont. Albaz won the TEDxIB@York 2011 student competition.
