Muslims everywhere seem to be in a state of struggle to say the least. The ultimate test has become the test to survive. The simple ability to live has become the day to day struggle, to provide their families with food and shelter.
=====================
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Asalamu Alykum Warahamtulahe Wabarakatuh,
Insha`Allah my message reaches you all whilst you and your families are in the best of health and highest levels of Eman, Ameen. Alhamdulillah the condition of our local Ummah is in good health all around, and we are blessed by Allah SWT to live in a peaceful nation where we can practice our faith freely, raise our families almost any way we choose and provide them with all the basic needs such as Health, Food, Shelter, Education, Recreation and much more. I know it weighs heavily on my mind as I am certain it weighs heavily on the minds of all of you is the current situation of our brothers and sisters in Syria.
We are amidst a massive change in the world, which much is undeniable; Muslims everywhere seem to be in a state of struggle to say the least. We are all under a test, a test of faith, a test of perseverance, of strength, of dignity or honor, but the stakes are much higher than that. The ultimate test has become the test to survive. The simple ability to live has become the day to day struggle, to provide their families with food and shelter.
The prophet (PBUH) said “Whoever does not take interest in the affairs of his fellow Muslims may not be considered one of them”.
Insha`Allah on March 11, 2012 the MCC will hold a fundraiser for our brothers and sisters in Syria in the Calgary Islamic School Gym (Akram Jomaa Centre). The objective is to help send some aids to those in need. Please show that you care by coming out and being part of this noble cause. If you cannot give money, just come out and show your solidarity and bless us with your presence and du’aa. Please check out Muslims of Calgary for event details.
Alhamdulillah, we have recently held some excellent events, the programs are running well all over the City, I am specifically grateful to ALL of our Imams and our Senior Imam Jamal Hammoud for the excellent Islamic programs being offered to the community by the Calgary Imams Council. I am also grateful to all the volunteers and the dedicated individuals working within the community who help make it all possible.
Insha`Allah, March is going to be an exciting month filled with events and activities specifically Youth Pride! I encourage all our youth to take part and play an active role in our community. Please visit the website for more information and stay tuned into Al-resalah radio a new MCC initiative to keep you connected to what’s happening.
May Allah Bless you all and keep our hearts connected, Ameen.
Your brother,
Abraham Ayache, MCC Chairman
